CABERET SAUVIGNON, Corinto £14.95
Ripe blackcurrants coupled with a little spice and herbal notes lead through to medium bodied palate of well balanced, finely textured dark red fruits.
CARMENERE, La Porfia £15.95
This enigmatic variety of Carmenere has become synonymous with Chile through its origins lie in the Bordeaux where it is the lost grape variety. This example, produced by Phillipe Debrus of Valdivieso fame, is a rewarding. Highly concentrated wine with huge depths of crisp, cassis, bramble and plum fruit overlaid with spicy oak notes. The texture is rich yet supple and the finish is oh so long. Quite a departure from many Chilean’s, this is one of the stars of the future.

This Malbec has a purple black colour and is bursting with blackcurrant and damson aromas. It is full-bodied with plenty of black cherry and chocolate notes and a slightly peppery, velvety finish.

Few regions from Australia command the respect that Coonwarra does and few growers within that region are as highly regarded as Majella. A long term highly quality grower, the Lynn family started bottling under their own label in the early ‘90’s. Since then they have rightly been regarded as the best producer in the region with every wine rated 5 stars by the revered Aussie wine writer, James Halliday. This wine is full, elegant, rich and succulent with complex cassis, mulberry and mocha notes. An absolute stunner.
